The origin story

Sydney grew up on the family farm. I grew up in a neighborhood in Columbia TN. I still laugh at myself for getting involved with livestock because I was the guy who would have NEVER thought I would be involved with livestock. Yet here we are.

We have been married since October of 2017, and now have three kids under the age of 5. We brought our first child home to a house in Columbia, where we quickly realized we would rather have our kids run around with stick outside, than be kids with Ipads inside.

The farm that Sydney grew up on was bought and owned by her grandfather Sonny Tillman. She grew up on this farm and got to live next door to her grandparents.

After some circumstances in 2019, the house that her grandparents lived in became available-thus the idea was born…”what if we move into that house?” Sydney asked.

After talking it over with her parents (who also live on the farm), it was official, and we were moved in within 30 days.

Some decisions are easy to make compared to others. There are a few moments in life when a decision comes across your mind, and it is extremely easy to make that decision. This was one of them.

When we moved onto the farm, we had no intention of having anything to do with animals. We just simply wanted the life opposite of a neighborhood lifestyle for our kids.

We wanted our kids to be okay with being bored. We wanted our kids to learn how to play with sticks for fun. We wanted to learn the life of taking it a little slower, and intergenerational living. We got all of that and so much more.

We are very open with how blessed we are that we had this opportunity. We do not take it forgranted.
